Shooting some product for my friend’s portfolio. I tried to get a really nice wrap around light effect here. I used two door mirrors to try and wrap the light. I think they need to be significantly wider on the next run.

Catapult Softball

Went to FDR Park today to shoot some hotdog eating silliness for Left Lingo. It was a good time and there are some sweet photos in the set. This is just an overhead outtake before we got down to business.

Outtake from a Living Proof Magazine shoot at an undisclosed secret location deep in the wilderness of Philadelphia. We worked pretty quickly with the setups and set changes. Once the issue is published I’ll post the final images here.

Recently, I was tasked with shooting some helmets for my friends over at 2one5. They needed some photos of their recent work to put in their portfolio. When Nik first asked me to shoot helmets, I started to think about what I wanted it to look like. That led me to the setup I used with a large softbox overhead and some front fill provided by an umbrella.

This is not exactly what I was hoping to get. My next attempt will include some mirrors on either side. I may also try it with the silk removed from the softbox and putting a strip mask over it. I hope to get some nice wrap around light.

I remember wanting to shoot from directly above the plates, but we didn’t have the time to set it up.

If memory serves me correctly, I used 2 gridded Alien Bees on either side and a shoot through umbrella from above.

I’ve been wanting to do this for quite sometime. Not an image that hasn’t been done, but it’s something I wanted to do for myself. Now that I have a fisheye and a camera mount for the car, I can make it happen. This is just a quick and dirty test to see what I’d be getting. I set my camera’s interval timer (thanks, Nikon) to expose every 4 seconds and hoped I didn’t get pulled over

I think a timelapse will be next.

This photo was made while I was out in SF for Unite09 Developers Conference. I was a making some photos of the Golden Gate Bridge and happened to look to my left. I thought it was a touching moment of these two taking in the view of the bay.
